In a world of instant criticism, these three women who are Caucasian have released catchy pop music for years. Swifty has slowly “crossed-over” to mainstream pop between her last album, ‘Red’ and the upcoming ‘1989.’ Well, the last album was more of a pop-infused album with country sprinkles. Cyrus made a radical transition from child-star to her now hotdog riding antics with recent hits like ‘Wrecking Ball’ and ‘We Can’t Stop.’ Side note: Cyrus is romantically linked to Mike-Will-Made-It, the producer behind most of her 2013 effort, ‘Bangerz.’ Yes, that means a white woman is dating a black man. Is society finally okay with interracial relationships? Finally, Lily Allen’s video for ‘Hard Out Here’ is definitely a more upfront approach at women empowerment, but , sigh, does it get lost in the imagery of the video? She has always been cheeky with her musical outputs, so this was no surprise to fans of her work. Or is it?
So, watch these videos and share your thoughts: Exploitation? Fun? Or like, whatever? Further more, would this discussion come up if we replaced the three above mentioned names with male artists?
