First Networking Contact!

During the spring semester of 2013, a member of the HDFS staff at PSU connected me with a student interested in learning about my work in human resources. We connected over the phone and then I composed an interactive and personal note (see below) via this blog.

Mentoring is an ongoing conversation that takes work from both parties.  Going into my second consecutive year as a mentor, I am excited to be speak at the 2014 mentoring luncheon.

“Dear Christina,

I am honored to have spoken with you today as part of your college assignment at Penn State.  I do not have all the answers, but even as recent as last week I have learned that nothing in life is certain.  Building your social network is the key in this competitive job market. Work hard and let your skills and talent be heard and perfected.  Your brand will blossom as a proud HDFS (Human Development & Family Studies) grad!  One day at a time.  Happy 21st birthday (by the way).  Make sure you visit Hotel Stage College on your special day.”
